The services provided by the Customs Clearance Division of the Chamber of Commerce to its members include a variety of support and guidance regarding customs procedures and related settlements. In this context, the division provides information and guidance on applicable customs laws and regulations, in addition to providing consultations related to customs transactions and facilitating administrative processes related to customs clearance.
In addition, training courses and workshops are organized to enhance members’ competencies in the areas of clearance and modern customs practices. This is with emphasis on the importance of providing technical and administrative support to members regarding problems and challenges they may face in the course of customs work.
In addition, the division represents members’ interests in speaking with relevant government agencies, which enhances their ability to address customs-related issues more accurately and effectively. Given the rapid and unprecedented development in logistics and supply chains, especially the focus of these sciences on reducing production costs by reducing the cost of the investor in inventory, and the trend towards reviving the Just In Time theory, and the fact that customs clearance work is one of the important logistics activities, it was necessary to establish a division that includes customs clearance entities, to study everything new, and the possibility of proposing possible logistical solutions within a legal framework in line with international agreements signed by different countries, as well as the internal laws of the country, based on the experiences of these specialized entities. The Customs Clearance Division has contributed with consultations and guidance to many companies to find logistical solutions that would reduce the cost of the fully manufactured product, and thus reduce the burden on the final consumer of goods and services. She also contributed by giving her opinions during the sessions to discuss the new Customs Law No. 207 of 2020, as well as the executive regulations of Customs Law No. 430 of 2022, in a manner consistent with granting facilitations and without prejudice to the provisions of control over logistical operations. The division was also represented in many customs committees as a member of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, in making many decisions and instructions, as well as in the customs clearance issue committees as a basic member of the commercial community.
